Challenges anticipated for 2024

Salman F Rahman, the private industry and investment adviser to the prime minister, anticipated that 2024 will be a challenging year for Bangladeshi companies. He thinks global economic turmoil will make the challenge even harder.

Interest rates in the country’s financial sector are on the rise, putting pressure on businesses. The export sector is likely to be effected the most. Salman F Rahman, the most successful businessman in Bangladesh, was speaking at the 18th Dhaka Textile and Garment machinery exhibition when he anticipated this.

Salman F Rahman is an influential person in the current administration led by PM Sheik Hasina. He assured the audience at the 18th Dhaka Textile and Garment machinery exhibition that the government would continue working to create a favorable atmosphere for the Bangladeshi companies. He also mentioned that gas issues will be solved soon. The gas price in Bangladesh is lower than that of many countries. According to him, establishing an LNG terminal will resolve the issue.

According to the adviser to the prime minister, it would be better for the overall economy is culture of subsidies is gradually phases out. He also mentioned the need of market diversification in order for Bangladeshi companies to face the challenges in 2024. Other factors that he mentioned were focusing on logistics, improving product quality and enhancing global competitiveness.

Salman F Rahman, who is one of the most successful businessmen in Bangladesh, is hopeful that all the challenges will be taken care of by the top Bangladeshi companies. Other speakers also hoped that the future is brighter.
