Nazmul Hassan Papon resigned from his position of Beximco Pharmaceuticals’ Managing Director. He was also a director of the company. This happened after Nazmul Hassan Papon was given the responsibility of youth and sports ministry. According to the Article 147 of the Constitution of Bangladesh – No person appointed or serving as a Minister, Minister of State or Deputy Minister of the Government shall hold any position of profit or salaried position or rank or shall participate in the management or management of any company, association or institution for profit.
Beximco Pharmaceuticals already informed investors of Nazmul Hassan Papon’s resignation through the Dhaka Stock Exchange’s website. Nazmul Hassan Papon is a perliament member from Kishoreganj-6 constituency. He took outh on as a cabinet member at Bangabhaban on 11 January.
In a speach after being given the responsibility of youth and sports ministry, Nazmul Hassan Papon said that Prime Minister has assigned new duties so it feels gratifying. He thinks new duties will bring new experiences.
Interestingly he did nopt resign from the position of BCB president. Regarding this, Nazmul Hassan Papon said that responsibilities of the minister will not impact his position as the BCB big boss. He also mentioned that the practice is quite common in other countries.
his term as BCB president will come to an end in 2025.
